We build the route around you and offer two logics to choose from: “The ancient heart” — from the Colosseum to the Trevi via the forums and the Capitoline, or “The baroque centre” — the Pantheon quarter, the squares and Bernini’s fountains. - Option “The ancient heart”. The Colosseum (seen from outside) — the silent witness to an empire’s triumphs and falls. The Imperial Forums — in the footsteps of the Caesars. The Capitoline Hill — Rome’s sacred centre and sweeping views. Piazza Venezia and the monumental Vittoriano. The Pantheon from outside — its perfect proportions from the square. A finish at the Trevi Fountain (from 2026 entry to the close-up basin is €2; free from the square) — the baroque in marble and water. On request the route extends to Piazza Navona and Bernini’s fountains.
- Option “The baroque centre”. The Pantheon — we go inside, under the dome that has held for two thousand years. Piazza Navona — Bernini’s fountains on the site of Domitian’s stadium. The Trevi Fountain (from 2026 entry to the close-up basin is €2; free from the square). The Spanish Steps and Piazza di Spagna. Quiet courtyards, churches and the cinematic lanes of the centre — Rome as the locals see it.
An overview isn’t a gallop through the icons — it’s a choice of lens. Some want to feel the empire — then we go from the Colosseum through the forums. Some want the baroque Rome of squares and fountains — then we start at the Pantheon. In three hours you get not a list but an understanding of the city — and you know where to come back.
